The Spooky Kids | Portraits

Back in my day, (insert old lady voice) when I was a purple-haired, black lipstick-wearing high schooler, a few classmates referred to my friends and me as “the spooky kids”. This was, of course, in the late 1990s (again, I’m dating myself) before there was Pinterest or Instagram, so my access to alternative fashion inspiration was limited and lacking, to say the least.

However, this is not the case for my (much) younger sister’s generation. They are taking personal fashion to a whole new level. So in honor of my favorite holiday, Halloween, I decided to post a few images that I captured a while back, of my sister and a few of her friends, in my hometown, Louisville, KY. They each threw their looks together with seemingly little effort and I was just in awe of how great they all looked! I set up shop in their living room and managed to get a ton of great shots. Two kitties, Lucy and Clover, also made cameos.
